Our Company
The Knipp Medien und Kommunikation GmbH was founded in Dortmund over 20 years ago. Our company is divided into the three business areas domains, IT enterprise services and print.We provide innovative and individual solutions for our costumers that are implement based on our expertise and excellent team spirit.
Our Team
At Knipp, we work together in a mixed team. Besides programmers, engineers and mathematicians, we also employ media technologists, economists and art students. As we are located in Dortmund, it might be of interest to some applicants: We have some BVB fans, some supporters of other clubs and some of us are not at all interested in soccer.

We operate our own data center in Dortmund and also use data centers at locations worldwide. We primarily use Linux systems, which often run in high-availability environments. Our core tasks include the backbone of the Internet, the so-called domain name system (DNS).
Your Responsibilities
- Monitor network, server as well as service infrastructures
- System maintenance (patch management) using administrative tools
- Install, upgrade and operate new servers and services
- Search for and eliminate bugs
- Test and introduce new technologies
- On-call duty with remote support
Your Profile
- You are studying computer science or another STEM subject
- You have good knowledge of Linux operating systems (Debian / Ubuntu, CentOS). Experience with OpenBSD is an advantage
- Shell scripts, Ansible as well as Docker are no foreign words for you
- You can fill the terms IP and routing with life
- You are tech-savvy and enjoy working on computer systems
- You are quick on the uptake and have good analytical skills
- You enjoy working in a team and have good German and English skills
