iF design award 2004
Within the scope of the iF communication design award 2004, Knipp was awarded
in two categories.
The international jury, well-staffed with top-class design experts, found
our web site and our domain registration system worthy to receive awards
in the disciplines »Screen design« and »Interface«.
So Knipp prevailed in a very demanding field of participants in this renowned
competition.
All in all, there were more than 1,000 submissions from 34 countries.

Not just an arbitrary award
|
The if design award is regarded as one of the most important and well-known
design competitions. This is proven by a survey on the significance
of international design awards that was done by the
GfK market research
group on behalf of iF International Forum Design.
In an online poll, almost 300 manufacturers and designers from around the world
rated it as the most imporatant award.
Due to the organizers, iF design award winners belong to the top vendors
in the design area.
The jury of the iF communication design award, which has appeared 2004
as an independent contest for the first time, is composed of
three international top-class jurors per discipline. Each juror is elected by iF
for two years at maximum.
All in all, 68 contributions from the the area of digital media recieved awards
for excellent design quality. Possible submissions in this discipline
were flash movies, e-commerce applications, learning software,
multimedia productions, online services, portals, simulations, web sites etc.
The fact that we were able to obtain even two awards for our submission in
this competition shows the quality of our work.
Simply beautiful - and beatifully simple
Some of the criteria that build the basis for the assessment
are efficiency and simplicity, interaction and communication,
esthetics, »Look and Feel«
as well as innovation and design quality.
By granting the iF design award, the jury recognizes the exemplary
user interface of our domain registration system
and the appealing design that supports its functionality even more.
The award shows that for us, technics and design do not end in themselves.
We rather combine them in an optimal fashion - to the advantage or our customers.
